A SOUTH AFRICAN CONSERVATION PROJECT
Most of the acclaimed ancient San Rock Art Paintings are obscured and protected from the public eye and generally, the sites are practically inaccessible. Fortunately, as they can not be interfered with or worse, destroyed by vandals.
A Study Paper and these artworks provide the enthusiast with revelation of San Rock Art, as depicted by the artist. The prime aim of this project is to share and commemorate the almost lost culture of the San People who once roamed the Savannahs of the African continent. They lived and some still do today, in total harmony with nature, posing no threat to wildlife and vegetation by overhunting or gathering. In some ways, they may be regarded as our pre-ancestors who have left us a legacy to remind us that humankind is not superior to nature - that we ourselves are a part of nature, with which we must live alongside and sustain, instead of neglecting, abusing and manipulate our surroundings with little or no regard for the consequences causing many ills to all inhabitants of the forgotten earth. The San Art Conservation Project also provides opportunities for Job Creation, providing creative guidance in the arts, as well as in commerce and various other means of employment. |
